Did you know it’s “Twinning Tuesday?!” Just kidding....we made that up but Mr. Guth and Mr. Dwyer were definitely on the same page with it being Twinning Tuesday today! Mr. Dwyer has been Mr. Guth’s student teacher since the start of this school year and they’ve been having a blast working with our middle school students and their physical education skills. Today, Mr. Dwyer had the students play a game called “Bank It, Bounce It, Make It!” Students had to concentrate and work on trying to get their various sized bouncy balls into their teams basket. #BeBrookwood #BrookwoodsBest

Virtual Cross-Country Season Week 4 We made it to race week! Nice work so far cross-country team! This week, our goal is to have as many of us as possible run a timed race. It doesn't matter how far you run, or how fast you run, but just run! Use one of the free-run tracking apps to get your time and distance, and then report back to Mr. Guth on how awesome you did for your race! Here is the email address: Matt.Guth@gcj2.k12.wi.us #BeBrookwood #BrookwoodsBest

In STEAM class at BMS, students are discovering how they can learn about many subjects at once. For this activity, students used markers to create a radial symmetry design on a piece of diffusing paper. The paper was folded and put into water to observe how the water would move through the paper spreading the color from the markers with it. Using a time-lapse video tool, students were able to capture this cool experiment! #BeBrookwood #BrookwoodsBest. Check it out here: https://youtu.be/n1SUy7b-J94

7th graders from Mrs. Tadlock’s science homeroom class continue to connect with virtual students through google meet. First, they learned how to create a split-screen on their Chromebooks. Then they worked on having two tabs open at once. They were also able to talk with their classmates who are learning from home - lots of smiling and waving! Students then were able to review scientific variables and asked questions as they came up. Our 7th graders closed out their class with a rousing game on kahoot to apply what they learned about in regards to scientific variables. The competition was fierce! Mrs. Tadlock loved seeing all of her students in class and online today! #BeBrookwood #BrookwoodsBest

September is Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month and we are thankful that this year we were able to continue on with our tradition of our Gold Walk at both schools this past Friday. We have partnered with Kisses from Keegan and Friends, a local pediatric cancer foundation, that supports local children fighting cancer. Keegan, who is a Brookwood alumni, put together this video to share with our students and community: https://youtu.be/n7_b9P7xFc0 To continue to help support raising awareness for childhood cancer, our District will be continuing to collect donations until the end of this month. The money that our District raises will be matched by Kisses from Keegan and Friends to help support a local child that is currently fighting cancer in our community. Please feel free to send your donations to either school office and to write checks out to Kisses from Keegan and Friends. If you have questions, please call the middle school office at 262-279-1053
