The final destination for the Passport to the World class brought them to vibrant Brazil. Students delved into the country's rich culture, created colorful carnival masks, savored delicious pão de queijo, and enjoyed refreshing Brazilian lemonade. They also played a traditional Brazilian game. What an incredible adventure this class has been on this week!
These volleyball stars made impressive strides this week, showing remarkable improvement in summer school volleyball. They had a blast together, and we hope to see many of these talented students joining the school team next year!

Opa! Yesterday, our world travelers journeyed to Greece. They delved into the rich history of Greece, crafted beautiful laurel wreaths, hosted their own Olympic Games, and savored delicious Greek salads and gyros. Yum! Today, they're off to explore Brazil...get ready to see a recap soon!
Tomorrow is the big day! Students completed their final read-through and added the finishing touches to their set design for “The Wizard of Oz”. If you’d like to view their performance, please arrive at the middle school by 11:30. See you there!
Students in Session 1 of the Green Thumbs summer school session found many delicious delectables in the school/community garden! They learned about types of gardens and container planting. They studied organic gardening, soil composition, insect pest control, composting, varieties of plants, and seed saving. They explored a daily mystery item from the garden & learned about the health benefits of growing produce.

Last week's yoga class was a blast. Students learned basic yoga while working on their breath work. Students worked intensely on their balance poses, stretching, and fun each day!
Last week, students in Summer School Painting Class painted on canvas, painted fabric banners, and painted wooden block faces. It was a great week with lots of color and fun!
Today, Passport Around the World immersed themselves in Japanese culture, delighting in a variety of culinary experiments. Students savored matcha tea, seaweed, wasabi, ramen and rice. They also enjoyed playing Kemari, a traditional Japanese game, and crafted beautiful origami cranes. What a fantastic day!
Session 1: The Essence of Cooking summer school class taught some valuable life skills! Teaching nutrition while building math, science, literacy, and fine motor skills while also using food safety basics, students made student-centered and inspired recipes!
Last week, incoming 4K and 5K enjoyed all things ice cream in this summer school session! They engaged in dramatic play by selling ice cream from the ice cream truck. They painted, colored and crafted ice cream projects. The kids enjoyed sundaes and learned how ice cream is made --they also made their own ice cream in a bag! Students practiced literacy and math skills through ice cream games as well. Way to work hard, Mustangs!

G'day, mate! Today's Passport Around the World adventure took students to Australia. They picked up some fun Aussie sayings, created beautiful Aboriginal dot paintings, and savored delicious Anzac biscuits. Crikey! They're now experts on all things Australia! Can't wait to see where their journey takes them tomorrow!

In Session 1 of Art, Crafts & More, students worked on a variety of projects.....from coloring to crafting and designing to building, there was something for everyone!

In last week's Summer School Photography class, students learned how to take photos up close, at different angles, how to focus on a subject, and what composition means in photography. They took photo walks inside the school and outside in the school forest. The week ended with students creating a photo album with their favorite photos to take home!
On Thursday, Passport Around the World's journey took them to Scandinavia! One of their amazing students shared authentic Norwegian clothes and items, which was incredible. They also indulged in delicious Danish Æbleskivers and Swedish chokladbollar—both were absolutely delightful! They wrapped up the day by crafting friendly trolls and playing with LEGO, (originally from Denmark). It was a fantastic week exploring the world. What adventures will next week bring??
Today, students in the "Shakespeare in a Week" summer school class put the finishing touches on their production. Tomorrow, "The Jungle Book" comes to life! Join us at 11:30 for our readers' theater performance at the middle school—you won't want to miss it!
