7/8 Sociology classes spent time working on "The History & Origin of Halloween" research that they used to create a display wall at BMS for Fall Fest. They gathered information about the roots of Halloween, the inspiration for our Halloween activities, and the ways in which Halloween is celebrated in other cultures. Check it out on Saturday, October 19th, or during conferences next week!

In 7th grade ELA, students are wrapping up their first book reports, showcasing their analytical skills and understanding of various texts. They are also nearing the end of the novel "Stand Tall," which explores themes of resilience and self-acceptance. Following this, the class will complete their first unit focused on “How different generations can learn from each other,” encouraging discussions about values and perspectives across age groups. This curriculum aims to enhance reading, writing, and critical thinking skills while fostering empathy and respect for diverse viewpoints.

7th & 8th Graders went to Build My Future SE WI today which is a collaborative effort between Lakeland Builders Association and Racine Kenosha Builders Association. The event was possible because of the generous support of sponsors and the enthusiasm of our exhibitors. This trip allowed our students hands on experience with experts working in the trades. *More pics on FB*

Fall Fest at Brookwood on 10/19 On October nineteenth from noon to three, Brookwood Middle School is the place to be. The sun shines bright, the skies are blue, As fall arrives with something new. The hayride rolls along the field, A bumpy joy that cannot yield. Pumpkins waiting, round and bright, In the patch, a happy sight. Cookies dressed with frosting swirls, Sprinkled by small hands in curls. Chili simmers, rich and warm, A fall fest feast that’s now the norm. From noon to three, come one, come all— At Brookwood’s Fest, we’ll have a ball! Questions: Tina.Mohr@gcj2.k12.wi.us
