Sharing YOUR Greatness!

We ask our Brookwood families to share with us what our Brookwood students and staff are doing outside of school so we can share in your greatness and how #MustangProud we are of your accomplishments!! If you have something to share....email it to Mrs. Xiong at Helen.Xiong@gcj2.k12.wi.us

Our next sharers of Greatness are Declan from BMS and Deacon from BES, they were able to meet their favorite author, Dav Pilkey, in Milwaukee. Both enjoy reading Captain Underpants, Dog Man, and Cat Kid! Meeting Dav was a dream come true for them. They were also gifted a copy of Dev’s newest Dog Man release, which he also autographed for them. The kids had a blast, and this will be an experience they will never forget!

So #MustangProud of this experience for Declan and Deacon!!

Have something to submit? Email it to helen.xiong@gcj2.k12.wi.us so we can share your greatness!!

BMS Be Brookwood Students of the Month!

Right before break, we celebrated our incredible Mustangs who were recognized for showing outstanding gratitude throughout November. These students stood out by appreciating others, recognizing kindness, and contributing to a positive school community every day.

We are so proud of their leadership and the example they set for their peers! 💙🤍

As we look ahead, we’re excited to kick off next month’s character trait: Empathy. Our students will be learning how to understand others’ feelings, show compassion, and build stronger connections across our school.

Congratulations again to this month’s winners, keep leading the way, Mustangs.

December Edition: BMS Brookwood News
There is SO much to be thankful for….our students, families, community…and the list goes on and on….

This Thanksgiving season -- and every season-- the Genoa City Joint 2 School District is truly grateful for our amazing staff and their participation in this year’s annual Pie Wars of BES vs. BMS, with BMS winning this year!

Through our staff’s generosity and community spirit, they donated enough funds to provide 38 pies to the Genoa City Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry—helping support our community during the holiday season. Our staff’s kindness reflects the heart of GCJ2 and the difference we can make when we come together.

We would also like to extend a special thank you to Stinebrink's Lake Geneva Piggly Wiggly for partnering with us and helping make this effort possible. Their support plays a meaningful role in helping us serve our community.

To our staff—thank you for your participation, your generosity, and your ongoing commitment to our district and the community we serve.

We are thankful and #MustangProud! Happy Thanksgiving!

As a service project, Mrs. Collins’ advisory collected pop tabs to support the Ronald McDonald House Charities. Ronald McDonald Houses provide a comforting, home-like place for families with children receiving medical care at nearby hospitals. By saving pop tabs, our students helped raise funds through recycling that directly support these programs and keep the Houses running for families in need.

Thank you to all students and families who donated—and a special thank you to the Sponenburg family for contributing to and delivering our collection to RMHC of Eastern Wisconsin!

Students in Mrs. Erickson's 5th-grade math class played a fun dice game to practice their addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division facts. The game is called Shut the Box and they loved playing it as a warm-up to the math lesson.

Students in 6th grade just completed their first ceramics lesson of the year. They learned how to construct coil pots. Students then glazed their fired pieces and after one more firing in the kiln, their pots are colorful and shiny! This lesson teaches students to problem solve while working three-dimensionally, to work on craftsmanship as they join pieces together and smooth out rough edges, and to stretch their creativity while making design choices.
