In Miss Dwy's 2nd grade class, they have been having a blast on Friday's because it is.....Flashlight Friday's! Each Friday they turn off the lights during reading stamina time and students read using finger flashlights. This is not only a really fun and engaging way to work on their reading stamina, but it also helps students develop their tracking skills in reading! Way to work hard, Mustangs! #BeBrookwood #BrookwoodsBest

We love being able to work with our Bloomfield Genoa City Fire Department during fire safety week, the Bloomfield-Genoa City Fire and Rescue Department participated in a virtual field trip for our elementary students. The students were shown all of the different trucks, a firefighter putting on all of their gear, a ride-along on the newest fire engine, and parking the big engine. Families and community members, thank you for continuing to work with our students on fire safety! Your commitment is extremely appreciated! And a special shout out to the Bloomfield Genoa City Fire & Rescue team! Check out the virtual field trip here: https://tinyurl.com/y29n649j #BeBrookwood #BrookwoodsBest

To celebrate national Farm to School Month, students in grades 4/5 "crunched" into locally grown apples from Hafs Road Orchard! Schools around Wisconsin "crunched" at noon today! The socially distanced outdoor crunch was a huge success! The Great Lakes Apple Crunch hopes to get over 2 million crunches today and throughout the month of October! Apples were purchased with a grant from Fuel Up to Play 60. Fuel Up to Play 60 is a school nutrition and exercise program launched by National Dairy Councils and the NFL in collaboration with the USDA to improve health and wellness for American's youth. This grant will help us continue to promote healthy eating and exercise all year long! #BeBrookwood #BrookwoodsBest
