In Miss Dwy's 2nd grade class, they have been having a blast on Friday's because it is.....Flashlight Friday's! Each Friday they turn off the lights during reading stamina time and students read using finger flashlights. This is not only a really fun and engaging way to work on their reading stamina, but it also helps students develop their tracking skills in reading! Way to work hard, Mustangs! #BeBrookwood #BrookwoodsBest
Mustangs, don't forget...there is no school on Monday! If you are a BES virtual/blended student...material pick up will be on Tuesday --anytime after 9 am. See you on Tuesday, Mustangs!
We love being able to work with our Bloomfield Genoa City Fire Department during fire safety week, the Bloomfield-Genoa City Fire and Rescue Department participated in a virtual field trip for our elementary students. The students were shown all of the different trucks, a firefighter putting on all of their gear, a ride-along on the newest fire engine, and parking the big engine.
Families and community members, thank you for continuing to work with our students on fire safety! Your commitment is extremely appreciated! And a special shout out to the Bloomfield Genoa City Fire & Rescue team!

To celebrate national Farm to School Month, students in grades 4/5 "crunched" into locally grown apples from Hafs Road Orchard! Schools around Wisconsin "crunched" at noon today! The socially distanced outdoor crunch was a huge success! The Great Lakes Apple Crunch hopes to get over 2 million crunches today and throughout the month of October!
Apples were purchased with a grant from Fuel Up to Play 60. Fuel Up to Play 60 is a school nutrition and exercise program launched by National Dairy Councils and the NFL in collaboration with the USDA to improve health and wellness for American's youth. This grant will help us continue to promote healthy eating and exercise all year long! #BeBrookwood #BrookwoodsBest

September is Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month and we are thankful that this year we were able to continue on with our tradition of our Gold Walk at both schools this past Friday.
We have partnered with Kisses from Keegan and Friends, a local pediatric cancer foundation, that supports local children fighting cancer. Keegan, who is a Brookwood alumni, put together this video to share with our students and community: https://youtu.be/n7_b9P7xFc0
To continue to help support raising awareness for childhood cancer, our District will be continuing to collect donations until the end of this month. The money that our District raises will be matched by Kisses from Keegan and Friends to help support a local child that is currently fighting cancer in our community. Please feel free to send your donations to either school office and to write checks out to Kisses from Keegan and Friends.
If you have questions, please call the middle school office at 262-279-1053
