Red Ribbon Week - October 24 - 28th - Beyond teaching facts and spreading awareness on the dangers of drug and alcohol use through classroom guidance lessons during the year, Red Ribbon Week presents an excellent opportunity for us to teach students about the benefits of building lifelong healthy habits, physically, mentally, and emotionally.

As part of Bully Prevention Month, students at BES were busy learning about what bullying is and isn't, what to do if you are being bullied, how to help a friend and how to be a friend. Students learned through classroom discussions, video clips and stories appropriate to their age. To wrap it up a unity tree of students' responses to bullying questions such as what is bullying, how can you help yourself or a friend and how to be a good friend. Students also signed an anti bullying pledge and received a badge for doing so. The tree and anti bullying pledge will be up through the month of October, don't forget to stop by and check them out when you are in for parent teacher conferences.
