Our next share-ers of greatness is Emily, Jillian and alumni Isaac!! Recently, Emily and Jillian went to the North American International Livestock Exposition in Louisville, KY where they showed Emily's family's sheep!! This is a very large show with thousands of sheep on exhibit. They worked hard through the year in taking care of the sheep and showed at several county fairs in the area and at the Wisconsin State Fair too. Both girls love showing their sheep and had a great time!
Emily’s brother, Isaac, a Brookwood Alumni also showed sheep as well. He was elected to the American Oxford Junior Association Board too.
We are so #MustangProud of all of you!! Way to show your greatness to the world around us!

Monthly School Board meetings at Genoa City Schools always start with celebrating and/or recognizing student greatness. At the November Board meeting, we had some wonderful 3rd grade students, Nora, Cody, and Ryder presented to the Board all of the amazing educationally based technology apps & programs that they use in their classes every single day. They also gave their reviews of what they felt the best tech apps & games were and how it helps them learn. All three students did an amazing job of preparing and delivering a dynamic presentation! Way to make us #MustangProud!!

Third grade students were invited to join the Mustang Morning Show for Adventure Club. Students meet twice a week to create and record the Mustang Morning Show. This is a 6 week long commitment. Students help write the scripts that share Brookwood news, sports, weather, book recommendations and inspirational quotes. This was their first episode from this past Monday:

Our next sharer of greatness is Callie who is currently a 7th grader at BMS and is a type one diabetic. She is also a JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) youth ambassador.
Callie has had diabetes for almost 3 years and diabetes does not have a cure. The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is working to find a cure though. Callie helps the foundation make phone calls and sends out letters to newly diagnosed kids like herself. The group she is in helps set up events for JDRF to help raise funds for juvenile diabetes research to help find a cure to support all type 1 diabetes.
Having diabetes doesn’t stop Callie from doing the things she loves. She has learned ways to know what her body needs and watches her monitor that keeps track of her blood sugar to help manage her diabetes.
Way to make us #MustangProud, Callie, and making an impact on the world around us!

BES After School Adventure Club has been a BLAST so far!! Our Kindergarten-1st grade students that signed up for Game and Puzzles had a blast working with peers and/or working independently on solving some great puzzles and playing various types of games!

Thank you to all of the Veterans and community members that came out to today’s Veterans Day Program. We are truly thankful for all those who have served.

At the end of October, Mrs. Bullock who teaches K-3rd & 6th grade music, 6th-8th grade choir, Drama, and Personal Finance, attended the Wisconsin Music Educators Conference in Madison. She was one of the presenters for Informal Music Making and Technology in the Classroom. Mrs. Bullock shared things she has created as an educator to enhance her teaching, as well as projects created by students. Recent student-created projects include: a sixth grade project, Red Fish Blue Fish, performed with beats he created himself using BandLab, the chance composition project created by Mrs. Nast's 21/22 third grade class, and William's Winter Nap - which was narrated by the drama class with sound effects added by Mrs. Johnson's second grade using classroom instruments. Conferences provide a great opportunity to network and gain new approaches and ideas to use in the classroom. Mrs. Bullock is already implementing some of the new things she learned! Way to share your greatness, Mrs. Bullock!! We are #MustangProud of you and so thankful you are part of the Brookwood Family!
