Random Acts Of Kindness Day - Friday, February 17th
Wear a shirt with a message of Kindness or positivity
At BES, our theme for the day will be, The Power Of One. All students will be reading the story: The Power Of One by Trudy Ludwig. Classes will be doing activities related to how one act of kindness can change someone's day. The ripple effect of one simple act of kindness. The power of just one act of kindness. The result will be our BES "Power Of One" display that all students will contribute to in the hallway.

Science / Technology / Engineering / Art / Math on Saturday for 3rd-5th graders to experiment, explore, and invent. Contact Mrs. Kanthack (7th & 8th Grade Science Lead) to register. Dates for this event are Feb 18, 25, and March 4 from 8:30-9:30 at BMS.

Brookwood Elementary KHC Update! We currently have 131 students who have registered and challenged themselves to either be more kind or to move more. We have raised over $14,000 for the Kids Heart Challenge and we have had 32 families that have learned hands only CPR so far!
Our GLOW events will take place next week Monday and Tuesday during regularly scheduled P.E. classes. Students are highly encouraged to wear anything that lights up or glows, as long as they can safely move and jump!
Reminder: All students that raise over $250 will get to throw a pie at a participating staff member of their choosing! Fundraising is due by February 21st.

Way to show your Brookwood Blues today, Mustangs!!! Don’t forget show your school pride on Monday’s! It’s a surprise when it’s going to be a Mustang Monday or a Brookwood Blue day and it’s random when the days are pulled. But no matter what….we love seeing your love for our schools!

Once you are part of the Brookwood Family....you're always a part of the Brookwood Family.
We love seeing our GCJ2Alumni as they continue to Grow into their Greatness in High School and share their perspectives and Greatness with us!!
Julia, a junior at Badger and a Brookwood alumni, came to the middle school art classes last week to talk about what art classes are available at the high school. Julia talked about course offerings and had a presentation with samples of her amazing artwork! She also answered any questions the students had. We were so lucky to have Julia come and share with us! Thank you, Julia!
Did you know that we have a Brookwood Alumni Outreach Program? It is a great place to get information about what is happening at Brookwood and how to stay connected ...so sign up today to be a part of this if you are a Brookwood Alumni!
Being a Brookwood Alumni is an aspect of being a Mustang that will forever bond you to the Brookwood Family. We ask that all of our Brookwood Alumni fill out the following form to be included in special emails throughout the school year that will include school and community events and special messages for our alumni from the Genoa City Joint 2 School District. We are excited that you are interested in being a part of our Alumni Outreach Program and if you have additional questions about it, please reach out to Helen Xiong at Helen.Xiong@gcj2.k12.wi.us

Hip, hip hooray for 100 days!
BES will be celebrating the 100th day of school on Thursday, February 9. To commemorate this special day, we are inviting students to dress up like they are 100 years old!

Our elementary artists wanted to remind you with all this snow around…only eat snow falling from the sky, wear warm mittens, and how to build a snowman.

BES Kid's Heart Challenge has started!! The school had so much fun kicking off this year’s Kids Heart Challenge yesterday and today. They've traveled the globe with this year’s heart heroes, who emphasized the importance of things like helping others, drinking water, getting enough sleep and saying NO to tobacco. BONUS: your student will get this awesome wristband just for joining at http://www2.heart.org/goto/BrookwoodGenoaCity or using the KHC app.
