In 2nd grade, they have been learning about what it means to be a good citizen and different aspects of government and elections. In honor of the U.S election, they held their own mock election this week. In their election, students were able to try out and vote for their favorite flavor of oreos: chocolate or golden. The students filled out their Voter Registration Card and ballot and turned it into the ballot box. Votes were counted and chocolate won by a landslide victory of 28 to 11! What a fun experience!

Yesterday was our 4K October Family Outreach and it was a blast!!! Thank you to Pearce's Farm Stand for having us!!
A message from our Brookwood PTO:
Don’t forget—Turkey Trot forms are due back at school by this Friday, November 1st! Let’s get ready to run, have fun, and maybe even gobble up some goodies!
In guidance class, 1st grade students are excited about becoming emotion detectives! They decorated their own spyglasses and are learning how to look for clues to figure out how someone is feeling (using facial expressions, body language, listening and looking at what is going on around the person) and why the person might be feeling that way. This will lead directly into learning to be empathic and what they can do to help someone.
BES After School Adventure Club has been a blast! Thank you to the teachers, students, and parents for making this such a success!!!
We love seeing all the artwork throughout our buildings at this time of year, but what becomes an annual tradition that is showcased that really “brings us back” are these beautiful clay pieces of artwork in each building…pumpkins at the elementary school and fall leaves at the middle school.
