In last week's Summer School Photography class, students learned how to take photos up close, at different angles, how to focus on a subject, and what composition means in photography. They took photo walks inside the school and outside in the school forest. The week ended with students creating a photo album with their favorite photos to take home!

On Thursday, Passport Around the World's journey took them to Scandinavia! One of their amazing students shared authentic Norwegian clothes and items, which was incredible. They also indulged in delicious Danish Æbleskivers and Swedish chokladbollar—both were absolutely delightful! They wrapped up the day by crafting friendly trolls and playing with LEGO, (originally from Denmark). It was a fantastic week exploring the world. What adventures will next week bring??

Students in PE Potpourri have been very active these past two days. They've played musical chairs, tag, and done relays in the hallway. Sharks and minnows has been their absolute favorite game to play though! They have been having so much fun playing all their games that students always leave this class very tired and sweaty, as does Ms. Wagner!
Friendly reminder for all students to do their best in bringing a water bottle to summer school every day!

In the "Shakespeare in a Week" summer school class, students diligently practiced their lines for their upcoming play, "The Jungle Book." Today was especially exciting as they began crafting their costumes. Can you guess who will be playing Mowgli, Baloo, Shere Khan, Bagheera, or Kaa? They are having so much fun bringing our characters to life!

Today, students in the "A Passport to the World" summer school class embarked on a cultural journey to Mexico. They immersed themselves in Mexican culture, learned some of the language, crafted vibrant sarapes, played the traditional game of Loteria, and cooked (and enjoyed) delicious tortilla chips and cheese quesadillas. It was a day packed with exciting activities! Tomorrow, their passports will be taking them to Italy for another day of exploration and fun!

To celebrate the end of the school year for our 4K students and their families, they celebrated by having an end of the school year 4K Olympics. They had a blast and we can't wait to see them all here in the fall for all day 5K!

Not only are our students celebrated at the end of the year but so are our staff! The end of the year staff luncheon was with great food and great company. It’s a time where we acknowledge milestones with years of service. Congrats to: Mrs. Fonk for 5 years of service, Mrs. Soto, Mr. Dittner, & Mrs. Denecke for 10 years of service, and Ms. Cottrell & Mrs. Collins for 15 years of service. We also celebrated Mrs. Sireno for her retirement and her 24 years of service at Brookwood. We are so thankful for our staff and their dedication towards our schools, students, and community. Happy Summer, Mustangs. #OnceAMustangForeverAMustang
