September is Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month and we are thankful that this year we were able to continue on with our tradition of our Gold Walk at both schools this past Friday.
We have partnered with Kisses from Keegan and Friends, a local pediatric cancer foundation, that supports local children fighting cancer. Keegan, who is a Brookwood alumni, put together this video to share with our students and community: https://youtu.be/n7_b9P7xFc0
To continue to help support raising awareness for childhood cancer, our District will be continuing to collect donations until the end of this month. The money that our District raises will be matched by Kisses from Keegan and Friends to help support a local child that is currently fighting cancer in our community. Please feel free to send your donations to either school office and to write checks out to Kisses from Keegan and Friends.
If you have questions, please call the middle school office at 262-279-1053
Virtual Cross-Country Season Week 3
We made it to week 3, nice job runners! This is our last scavenger hunt before race week. We've had a blast looking at all the pictures sent to us by our virtual cross country team. Keep up the great work. Remember, to earn the free t-shirt, you must complete all 4 events. Good luck finding Mr. Guth's secret location for week 3! #BeBrookwood #BrookwoodsBest
These third graders are presenting Wasp Traps that they made to our GCJ2 Facilities Manager, Bill Erickson, for use around the district grounds. The traps were constructed during their Science class under the direction of our BES science teacher Melissa Bobula! They were constructed to be entirely environmentally-friendly to be put around our grounds at our schools. #BeBrookwood #BrookwoodsBest
What a great day for a Gold Walk! Thank you to everyone that donated to our cause of raising awareness for pediatric cancer with Kisses from Keegan and Friends. We are excited to announce that we will be accepting donations until the end of the month because whatever we raise; Kisses from Keegan and Friends will be matching our donation amount to help support a local child fighting cancer as a compiled donation.
Please feel free to send your donations in with your child or drop it off to either of our school offices.

Virtual Elementary School Families can pick up their regularly scheduled virtual learning supplies after 9:00 am on Monday mornings. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your child's homeroom teacher.
In reading, Kindergarteners in Ms. Flood's class are learning about sharing their thinking about books. They put a post-it note on a favorite page that made them feel something, that they thought was interesting, that reminded them of something, etc. They then share that page with their reading partner.
While doing this activity, they're also working on finger strength, which will help with their writing. Using playdough and working with post-it notes are a few awesome and fun ways to strengthen their fingers!

First graders have been working hard on their addition skills. Students each have a math toolkit that contains math manipulative to help them solve tricky problems. They are also using their other resources while working on math like their math books and iPads. We like to send pictures to our family members to let them know what we are learning. #BeBrookwood #BrookwoodsBest
Students in 7th grade Language Arts took a quiz in a fun and unique way! They answered questions about Characterization via an app called "Quizziz." This fun and interactive website allows the teacher to create assessments for students that helps them to learn literary terms and how to apply them while also challenging them to get the most points and beat their classmates. There are funny memes to encourage them to keep doing their best and even strategy boosters to help them get a better score. Students love this app and the best part is, they are learning at the same time as playing a game! #BrookwoodsBest #BeBrookwood
